Dennis Martire has amassed many accomplishments during his 30 years of service to the Laborers’ International Union of North America. Most of those successes directly affect labor unions and workers within the United States and, specifically, the mid-Atlantic region where he acts as vice president and regional manager. One of the most notable triumphs was his work to establish a LIUNA labor union among those workers on Fluor-Lane’s expansion of the Route 495 Hot Lanes Project. There, Dennis Martire was instrumental toward giving power back to the unionizing workers, who inevitably voted overwhelmingly in favor of establishing a labor union. Their election for representation -- aided immensely by Martire’s leadership -- marked one of the largest union victories in Virginia among the construction industry. Over 200 workers voted favorably to make this happen. Comments are closed.
